|What is glutathione?
Glutathione is the quintessential antioxidant defense system in the body and it’s naturally produced in our bodies. When a cell is deficient in glutathione the cell cannot function properly.
What does the glutathione system include?
It includes glutathione along with other enzymes and proteins that enable glutathione to do its work. Glutathione is a very simple molecule. The body creates it using three amino acids — cysteine, glycine and glutamine.
What role does glutathione play?
Glutathione is versatile; a universal toxin-binder. It’s extremely important for maintaining intracellular health. Levels of glutathione have been shown to diminish substantially with age as well as with chronic illness and poor health. The glutathione system functions as a potent antioxidant by protecting healthy cells and removing free radicals. It is found in various organs in the body. Research has shown that low levels of glutathione have been linked to many illnesses and conditions such as aging, acne, ALS, Alzheimer’s, weak immune system, Parkinson’s disease, and more.
Glutathione not only functions as an antioxidant, it’s also used in DNA synthesis and repair, the activation of enzymes, and protein synthesis. Almost every function and system in the body relies on glutathione in order to function at peak performance.
Who benefits from IV Glutathione therapy?
Increasing the body’s glutathione levels is a benefit everyone can obtain. If you’re a person who drinks alcohol, smokes cigarettes, has a liver condition such as cirrhosis or nonalcoholic liver-disease you would greatly benefit from glutathione therapy. Glutathione is for those who battle fatigue, hangover, fitness exhaustion, skin problems, inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcers, and more. Glutathione is safe and has no side effects.
What are the benefits to glutathione?
Skin Benefits of Glutathione IV:
Glutathione CANNOT be added to any IVs at this time. If you wish to get glutathione you can do so as a stand-alone IV, or IM shot in the deltoid at least 24 hours after you receive your IV drip. If you wish to receive glutathione with other vitamins please ask our staff about the Tri-Immune IV and IM service we offer.
Why should I wait to get glutathione 24 hours after my IV drip?
Waiting increases it's efficacy and decreases the chances of endotoxin release in the body. Glutathione given via IM is absorbed into the muscles and will stay in the body for quite some time and is absorbed over time. When given via IV it is absorbs instantly into the body and the body has access to it immediately. Glutathione when given intramuscularly is inserted into the deltoid at 1mL per shot. When given via IV, clients can receive 1-3mL of glutathione, per IV, per week, per client. After three consecutive months of receiving glutathione consistently (at least 1 time per week) clients are directed to take a one month break from getting glutathione in order to increase it's efficacy and decrease the risk of endotoxin release into the body. The body does an amazing job of storing up the nutrients and vitamins we give it therefore your body will still use the glutathione you have received if you are on a "glutathione break"
Why choose glutathione IV over glutathione pills?
Glutathione supplements are a popular choice for those who want to add it to their daily routine. Unfortunately, the pill-form of glutathione may not be as effective or potent as getting it via IV.
Glutathione in pill-form is a nutrient taken orally and must travel through the stomach and liver before it can be extradited into the bloodstream. In turn, this diminishes the effectiveness and potency of the nutrients ingested. When taken orally, only a small amount of the nutrients make it to the bloodstream because of how the stomach and liver break it down. Delivering nutrients by way of IV means bypassing the digest tract and avoiding the breakdown (loss of efficacy). With IV therapy, the benefits of certain nutrients and hydration are quickly delivered to the bloodstream making the client feel good immediately and for a longer period.
*If you are unable to receive glutathione via IV and you are fighting a specific disease such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or HIV it is recommended to take a daily glutathione supplement. Some nutrients are better than none.
Why choose glutathione IM?
Glutathione when give via IM is great if you are trying to save money, time, and still want the benefits of glutathione. Hydration is so crucial when it comes to our health and receiving gluthione via IV is the most powerful simply because your body will absorb it quickly and utilize it immediately. Your body will absorb it over time. Clients can get 1 shot of glutathione per week for three months then must take a one-month break in order to increase it's efficacy and decrease the chance of endotoxin release in the body. Don't worry though, your body will still be using all that glutathione it has stored up in the muscles.
Glutathione and Diet
It is possible to get glutathione from our diets however research indicates that most adults do not get all the glutathione that their bodies need just from diet. Drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes significantly depletes the body’s levels of glutathione.
